Say It Ain’t So

And so, another Chicago Cubs season ends as it has for over a century, without a World Championship. It’s easy to second guess, so I will. It appears to me that the Cubs have to either get in as the Wild Card team, or play hard all the way to the end. The game managers play after their team clinches a playoff berth early, of resting players, is fool’s gold. Play them hard to the end and the chances of a player getting hurt are no worse than they were all season. Sitting around and going into a five game series not competing in the immediate games prior is stupid.
