So, Mitch McConnell is the literally the person causing the shutdown because as the Republican Senate majority leader he refuses to take up the appropriations bills passed by the House of Representatives. Blame Mitch not Trump.
If you recall from How A Bill Becomes A Law, Congress has the ability to override the President’s veto. So, if the Senate passed the bills passed by the House, they go to the President, and if he vetos then is back in Congress’ power to override the bills in which they become law.
So once again, Congress has within its power given to it by the Constitution to govern and like so many times in the past Mitch McConnell is not living up to his oath.
It’s time to start putting pressure on the Republicans and McConnell.
