I thought of you when I read this quote from “How to Read the Bible and Still Be a Christian: Struggling with Divine Violence from Genesis Through Revelation” by John Dominic Crossan –
“One could imagine a combination of both of these assertions that proclaimed an eschatological wisdom that opposed the normal imperial wisdom of peace through victory with the radical divine wisdom of peace through justice. This is, by the way, exactly what the Apostle Paul proclaimed in 1 Corinthians 1: 26– 2: 13: “We speak God’s wisdom, secret and hidden, which God decreed before the ages for our glory” (2: 7).”
