I am doing some testing / base lining of my home network in preparation for replacing my home router this weekend. Here is a test result using http://ift.tt/1IlNdPa at the living room table on a 5Ghz network.
Here is the same test at 2.4GHz:
So, I have slightly faster speeds at 5GHz although the WiFi signal is not as strong. According to Wi-Fi analyzer, the 2.4GHz network is slightlight lower dBm than the 5GHz.
